Are you ready for dragon-slayin' action? Brother, you'd better be, because the new Otters' comic, "Dim, Dim Knights," is now available in the Spookingtons' digital store! Check out a one-page preview right here!
At eight pages, it's a touch longer than most of the stuff in the store, and it's also easily the best-looking Otters comic EVER MADE. Seriously, some major toning work went into this one. Deadlines! Who needs 'em?
On a related note, when you buy your copy, I'd love to hear your thoughts! You can mail 'em directly to me, Norm, at spookingtons-at-gmail-dot-com, or feel free to post 'em in the comments below! If they're pithy enough, I'll post 'em on the comic's preview page -- bonus points if you can somehow work in the word 'Boffo." Nobody uses that one anymore.

Espionage and dragon-related intrigue, coming VERY SOON NOW in "Dim, Dim Knights," starring the Otters!
I don't know about where you live -- mostly because I don't even know who you ARE, individually -- but this has been one mild winter! Not that I'm complaining, unless it's indicative of the Earth falling into the sun or something... and even then, why be super-cold the whole trip down?
Granted, it hasn't been all palm trees and coconut oil this season. We've still got our winter standbys of gray skies, mud and seasonal depression, but compared to previous years, when one had to chisel the frozen corpses of woodland creatures off the lawn every morning lest they result in bare patches when the growing season returns, this is barely a slap on the wrist.
I grant that being unable to characterize winter in terms of anything other than a form of punishment probably isn't the world's healthiest attitude, but we live where we live. Get back here, Spring!

I'm not certain if playing "Skyrim" for so many weeks during the creation of this comic had any significant impact on the look of my dragons, but I'd not honestly be ashamed if it did -- Skyrim had some fine-looking dragons, when they weren't flying backwards or caught in an endless loop over some difficult-to-navigate terrain. That you could thwart their attacks by perpetually positioning yourself behind a boulder or column in relation to their position, like innocent young lovers chasing around a tree, only added to their charm.*
Today is my father's birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad! I'll also give him a call, since he doesn't actually read any of my work. But here's to him! I'll likely never have his brains, and certainly will never have his gumption.** Also, he can cook a mean steak.
*because I'm not actually very good at playing video games. Any advantage is a good advantage!
** In this case, 'gumption' is defines as the quality of human willpower that can be summoned when one needs to, for instance, strangle a grizzly bear with one's bare hands.

Is Sid a gym sock? He's a tube sock, but is a gym sock an entirely different garment, or simply defined by usage, like a fiddle? In the latter case, he's probably not, as I don't remember ever seeing him being worn... although I suppose that doesn't preclude the possibility of he, himself, going to the gym of his own volition.
I'm sure he washes regularly.
The Otters' medieval epic "Dim, Dim Knights" will be available soon! Watch this space!
